  • No fabric content but would say cotton. Maybe a blend? Dress has 3/4 length sleeves, a drop shoulder sleeve and an optional cuff. Standard for these dresses - the Mandarin collar, button front collar with the knot buttons, and the sash.

  • This fits in with my love of caftans and muumuus. It gives me glamorous lounging by the pool vibes. I have to say, I do prefer it unbelted…see photos. This style was sold starting about 1965 and was called The Burma Shirt, marketed as a nightgown or swim coverup and was shorter than the dresses.

  • I found some good info on these dresses on a site called “Couture Allure”, in a posted dated May 4, 2011, she says “By 1975, artist Catherine Ogust was designing prints for Penthouse Gallery.  Here, the "Burma" is being sold as an "at home" lounging dress or pool cover-up.” She then goes on to explain the dress was still being sold in the 80s! It was then known as the “Forever Dress”.
