1930s/1940s Dress by R & K Originals

Excellent vintage condition!

  • No fabric label, would guess it is rayon

  • Short kimono sleeve

  • Blouson style bodice

  • Piping trim on both sides of bodice

  • Convertible collar

  • Side button closure

  • Belt loops, but original belt has been lost to the ages. I didn’t even try to find something else

  • A-line skirt with 2 small pleats on either side

  • Smocking detail at waist on back

Measurements taken flat and doubled:

  • Bust 34” NOTE: I measured pit to pit. It is supposed to fit loosely

  • Waist 25”

  • Hip 34”

Measurements taken flat:

  • Shoulder to shoulder 16”

  • Length 39”

  • Sleeve length 5”

The label on this gave me a little giggle: it says “fits average Americans”. Not anymore label, not anymore! But I do think R & K Originals is still made! Hang on, let me google it…yep! Looks like they are sold at JC Penney.
